MUFKO Halal App

Problem

Korea has little Muslim infrastructure, so Muslim visitors and residents struggle to know which local snacks they can eat or where to find halal food, a masjid, or a prayer room.

Approach

I built the GraphQL backend with Google OAuth login behind the Android and iOS app. It serves a database of 30,000+ Korean snack products with their ingredients, halal restaurants in five categories, 180+ prayer rooms and masjids, and the community forum and posts. I also contributed to the Laravel internal tool for content management and to the Flutter frontend.

Impact

The app passed 100,000 downloads with a 4.6-star rating from 473 Google Play reviews, serving the Muslim community in Korea and visitors.
